Kim Harnes: Vocals, Percussion
Kim has been singing since the age of six years old and writing songs since
the age of 12. Born in Long Beach, California, she moved to Nevada after
Kindergarten and has lived there ever since. She currently resides in Reno with
her husband and two children.
Her first experiences with performing occurred with her church, when she played
Mary in a Christmas play. Since then, she has performed in numerous plays and
musicals throughout Elementary School, High School and College, and has appeared
in many talent contests throughout the state.
She made her professional debut with a Top 40 band where she sang and played
Keyboards. Realizing that her calling was with Country music, she left the band
and began to pursue her own career as a singer-songwriter. Her debut CD "A Woman
Like Me" demonstrates Kim's talents not only as a vocalist but you can hear it
in her songwriting as well. She pulls all of her songs from her heart, and can
find inspiration in anything. Each song tells a story that anyone can relate to,
from the comedy in the title track "A Woman Like Me" and "Ball and Chain" to the
seriousness of the music business in "I Can" Kim's passion for her music is
second only to her passion for God and her family, as you can hear in "How Can
Anyone" and " God and Country." She fully believes that her talent for singing
and songwriting comes only from Him. "I don't write the songs," Kim says. "I
only hold the pencil......
